Critical Media Lab Salon: Digital Media Research Sharing Session
Are you curious about the digital media projects happening in the Department of English?
Do you have a brilliant idea for a digital media project, but you're unsure of the technical elements involved? Are you interested in forming a collaboration but don't know how to make it happen?
Students and faculty are invited to meet at the Critical Media Lab for an exciting informal research sharing session on the topic of collaborative projects in the field of digital media.
The meeting will feature talks by:
PhD student LAUREN BURR on the development of an alternate reality game (ARG) at the Carleton University Hypertext Lab.
UW English Professor SARAH TOLMIE on her current research involving the development of a Piers Plowman virtual reality interface
Following the presentations, students and faculty will have an opportunity to share details about their own past and current research, to field ideas for digital media projects, to discuss research questions or methodologies, and so on.
This event is being co-organized by dstock [at] uwaterloo [dot] ca (Danielle Stock), a PhD candidate in English, and f3yusuf [at] uwaterloo [dot] ca (Farah Yusuf), a candidate for the MA in English--Experimental Digital Media. Please email them with any questions about the event.
