Late Breaking News
Tues Dec 12, 10:15 pm
: In my posting of Tues Nov
28 (see below), I listed three areas that would be covered on the
MT3 Short Answer section. In addition, there may be a question from
the two films on psychotherapy. The relevant material would be taken
from the
Handout on Films on Psychotherapy.
Tues Dec 12, 9:45 pm
:
The mp3 files for the answers to the Review questions are here:
Sorry--there seems to be some buzzing in the background!!
Sun Dec 3: I have
final details on the location of the final exam. Unfortunately, we will have
to change the location of the final exam. It will still be held on Saturday,
December 16, 7:30-10:00 pm, but it will NOT be in the PAC.
Instead, we will be in 6 rooms. Here is the assignment of rooms by the
first letter of your last name:
- Last name begins with A-D: Go to Davis Centre (DC) 1350
- Last name begins with E-Le: Go to Davis Centre (DC) 1351
- Last name begins with Li-O: Go to Math & Computing (MC) 4020
- Last name begins with P-Sh: Go to Math & Computing (MC) 4021
- Last name begins with Si-T: Go to Math & Computing (MC) 4059
- Last name begins with U-Z: Go to Math & Computing (MC) 4061
I'm very sorry about this change. The Registrar moved my section out of the PAC
for the first time in about 15 years.
Tues, Nov 28: To clarify what will be covered
on MT3 Short Answer Questions, here is the list:
- Questions 11-40 on research methodology
- Questions 218-265 on material since Midterm 2, EXCEPT FOR THESE:
- 218, 219, 220, 221, 235 (the second part about LTM; the first part
WILL be covered), 238, 239, 244, 245, 252, 253, 254, 265--THESE WILL NOT
BE COVERED
- Questions from the Lecture Notes on Errors and Biases in Reasoning
(266-282, as indicated on page 3 of the review questions handout and
as I stated at least twice during the last 4 lectures of the term).
Note: the reason why I didn't go over the answers for all of those
questions on errors and biases is because all of the answers are to
be found in written form in the lecture notes. Any
questions that appear on MT3 from these lecture notes will
NOT be very complex.
Tues, Nov 28: : The answers to the review questions for the
required MT3 will be posted in the form of mp3 files by Tues., Dec 12.
Information about the Final Exam

Update is above: the final will be held at the same time, but the location is
different. Instead of the PAC, it will be held in 6 rooms. See the above details.
- Additional information regarding the following topics can be found in the
Information About the Final Examination and Review Questions handout:

- Averaging procedure if you decide to do one of the second chance midterms.
- Change in the weights of the components of the course
- Review questions (along with which review questions are relevant to
Midterm #3)
- Please bring a Number 2 (HB) pencil to the midterm. You will answer the multiple choice questions on Scantron sheets.

providing, you
may call me on the Psychology 101 Hot Line.
The times for the hot line will be Friday, December 15, 9:30-10:30 p.m.
- There will, of course, be a number of review questions from the final set
of review questions (Information about the final
examination and review questions) that will NOT
be covered on the Midterm #3 (in addition to the questions already starred,
which meant that those questions would not be covered): Those will be
identified at
the Review Session and will also appear on the
Final Exam/MT3 Review Questions. SO PLEASE CHECK THAT WEBPAGE FOR
UPDATES.
- In the past two weeks, we distributed Lecture Outline 11 on Errors and Biases in Reasoning. We also distributed the Lecture on Errors and
Biases in Reasoning. You will be responsible for material in that lecture.
