If you are interested in running for the executive council please email PsychSoc at uwpsychsoc@gmail.com with the position you are interested in and a platform (reason why you want to be an executive, what you would like to change, add or bring to the society and any other points you feel are important).
A voting list will be complied by Monday, March 29th. No late submissions will be accepted.
Campaigning can begin as early as March 17th. Candidates are encouraged to advertise via posters, the internet and word of mouth. Posters must be approved by the ASU before they can be posted. Candidates must take down their own posters after the elections by April 2nd.

Voting will take place on March 31st in AL, from 9 am to 4 pm. There will be a booth setup by the ASU office and manned by volunteers from PsychSoc. Voting is open to all Psychology undergrads. However, you are required to show your Watcard before casting your ballot, so please have it with you.
- Any Psychology undergrad can run for an executive position; no experience necessary.
- Candidates can run for multiple positions; however elected members can only hold one position and so candidates must decide an order of preference before campaigning.
- Candidates may campaign from March 17th to March 30th.
- Candidates must contact PsychSoc by March 29th to be included on the ballot. (See 'How to Run')
President
- Holds signing authority on the PsychSoc bank account
- Has administrative capabilities on the PsychSoc computer and supervises its proper usage
- Attends ASU meetings
- Addresses any conflicts or issue which directly affect the society and prevent it from effectively achieving its aims
- Chairs executive meeting
- Drafts and submits/presents funding proposals for special projects (from ASU and FEDS)
- Drafts contracts for roles and responsibilities of Executive council, and ensures that each Executive member fulfills their duties as such
- Pursues any collaborative activity with any society that will be of direct benefit to Psychology majors and Arts students at large
- Helps organize and advertise social and educational events and activities for Psychology majors
- Attends all PsychSoc organized events
- Holds at least one office hour per week

- Drafts agendas for Executive meetings
- Is responsible for the sales of snacks and all elements (purchasing, pricing, restocking) involved
- Helps organize and advertise social and educational events and activities for Psychology majors
- Attends all PsychSoc organized events
- Holds at least one office hour per week
- Drafts budget for the ASU in order to receive the term's allotment
- Monitors the reimbursement binder and ensures that cheques are written in a timely manner
- Monitors the cashbox to ensure that there is adequate petty cash, and that extraneous change finds its way to the bank
- Consistently checks the PsychSoc email account; deleting spam mail, responding to inquiries, and forwarding messages to relevant parties
- Updates the PsychSoc website with current information regarding Executives, volunteer information, and events
- Helps organize and advertise social and educational events and activities for Psychology majors
- Attends all PsychSoc organized events
- Holds at least one office hour per week
- Is responsible for overseeing the planning of social and educational events and activities for Psychology majors (includes chairing of social committee, if applicable)
- Keeps detailed notes about PsychSoc events through the completion of "event post hoc" forms
- Gets FEDS and City of Waterloo clearance for events (fills out event forms two week prior to event)
- Gets Psychology Department clearance for events using the PAS Lounge
- Maintains the calendar of events
- Attends all PsychSoc organized events
- Holds one office hour per week
- Attends ASU meetings for the purpose of reporting its activities back to the PsychSoc Executive
- Records the minutes of the executive meetings, sends a digital copy to the executive as well as files a copy in the cabinet
- Oversees the creation of mailing/contact list
- Is responsible for compiling a list of PsychSoc volunteers who are allowed to have access to the office key, and giving it to the proper authority
- Is responsible for keeping the office neat and tidy
- Helps organize and advertise social and educational events and activities for Psychology majors
- Is responsible for keeping the photocopier stocked with paper and toner
- Attends all PsychSoc organized events
- Holds at least one office hour per week
